With a one-of-a-kind side design, the Elite Expressions Bookcase Platform Bed features a wide bookcase with two adjustable shelves divided into four sections. These open shelves and the long cherry veneer top provide lots of space for an alarm clock, stereo, books, photos, and other essentials. The sturdy platform storage unit is made up of a platform bed frame and three deep storage drawers. The slat roll mattress support system features evenly spaced wooden slats that run the whole length of the bed. You won't need a box spring because the slats provide all the support your mattress needs. The three under-bed drawers operate individually when you pull on their thick drawer front frames. These drawers offer substantial, space-saving storage for clothing and other bedroom items.

The root beer cherry color finish is the result of an extensive, multi-step finishing process. What makes this collection elite: The Lea Elite Collections are crafted from high quality materials usually associated with more expensive, heirloom quality furniture. Pattern veneers, inlays, and matched veneer drawer fronts are a few characters that set these collections apart from the rest. The multi-step finishing process begins with hand-selected veneers and involves as many as seven different spray applications and as many as eight additional hand applications. Together, these layers create a high-luster finish that accentuates the wood veneers. All finishes are lead-free, child-safe, and meet US safety requirements.

Dependable Bed Construction: All Elite Collections beds feature metal connectors that prevent unintentional rail detachment and provide strength and lasting durability. Slat roll mattress support systems come standard with bunk beds, loft beds, and platform beds to provide reliable mattress support without the need for a box spring or bunkie board. Each slat fastens with a screw, which increases the structural integrity of the bed. Most twin and full size Elite Collections beds have under-bed storage options, including deep drawers or dual-function trundle/storage units, that take advantage of unused space under the bed.

Superior drawer construction: The deep under-bed drawers feature traditional English dovetail construction on drawer fronts and drawer backs, providing more strength and durability than commonly used French dovetail or box joints. Drawer parts are hand-sanded and finished with a stained, protective top coat to create a smooth, snag-free interior. Drawer bottoms are reinforced by corner blocks and center rails for greater stability.

The drawers operate smoothly on full-extension drawer guides with steel ball bearings that provide easy, one-handed operation and better drawer stability than standard center-mounted drawer guides. Because the drawers extend completely out of the case, you have easier access to the contents of the drawer - even way in the back. Automatic drawer stops prevent drawers from falling out. Select drawers include special features, such as aromatic cedar bottoms or removable drawer dividers.

Also available is a matching 7-drawer dresser and optional cabinet or landscape-style mirror. Built with the same quality finish process and precision, this dresser really completes the collection and makes the bedroom feel balanced and grounded. You can choose to add just the dresser or the dresser with either a cabinet-style or landscape-style mirror.
